This is a direct transfer from 20 year old master recording on a good old TDK AD90 cassette. An audience recoding via a stereo microphone to a Sony Recording Walkman. The transfer was from tape deck (Aiwa AD-F800) to Audio CD recorder, then EAC to WAV to FLAC.

This was the first of 3 consecutive nights at the Marquee. The boys took the opportunity to play around with the set on all 3 nights making for very different shows.

Martin was plagued with mixer problems/failure resulting in the abandonment of Gateway mid song. This made the first night a bit special as Mike and Peter "filled" by playing an impromtu version "For The Taking" which hadn't been played live for quite a time. Fascination was also added back into the set (with one unlucky punter having previously had a million quid bet in the bar with Peter that it wouldn't be played that night!!)

IQ played a number of Marquee headlines during 1984 and included a cover as one of the encores for most of them - this night was no different with a rendition of U2's "New Years Day" (albeit a bit premature!). There was only time for one encore, much to the chagrin of those attending!
