Comments

This is a direct transfer from 20 year old recording on good old TDK D60's. This is, I believe, a first generation copy obtained from the original taper in 1984. The transfer was from tape deck (Aiwa AD-F800) to Audio CD recorder, then EAC to WAV to NERO 6.0 to FLAC.

The recording is stereo, but given the quality of the tape there is some tape hiss evident. This is however a very good recording of the time and I'd rate it as A-/B+.

A return to the London "home", the Marquee, and the chance to unveil the amendments (and extensions) to the current work in progress - given (for the first time) it's working title "the wake". It had been somewhat changed from the earlier version in February, a great performance too.

The encores were a rather bouncy version of Barbell followed up by a somewhat rawkus cover!

IQ played a number of Marquee headlines during 1984 and included a cover as one of the encores for most of them - this night's rendition was The Tubes' classic - White Punks on Dope. The Tubes were one of Tim Esau's favourite bands and no doubt this had something to do with it!

The CDR's are a bit lopsided with only
4 shortish tracks on CD1 but given the tape flips this seemed most appropriate.
